Mama’s Macaroni Cheese

This meal is a cheesy, tummy warming, bowl of yum! We love it! Its pretty simple to make!

Ingredients

Pasta shapes 100g per person

2 heaped tbsp of flour

Glug of oil

1.5 pints of milk

A whole load of cheese! I usually add to taste.

Bit of pepper.

Method

In a large pot bring water to the boil (salt optional) and add your pasta and cook according to instructions on the packet.

In a medium saucepan over medium heat add a glug of oil (3 tbsp roughly) and add your flour and mix to paste.

As the paste starts to bubble begin adding the milk slowly while whisking constantly to remove any lumps.

Bring to the boil. The sauce will start to thicken. When you’ve got you’ve got your desired consistency remove from the heat.

I usually start grating the cheese straight into the pan. I’ll probably use around 300g if i was to guess.

Fold the pasta into the sauce and transfer into an over proof dish or pan.

Top with more cheese and pop under the grill until the top is golden brown.

You can add extras to make it even more tasty. I usually add cooked peas and crumble crispy grilled bacon into the mix.
